Why do adsense sites sell so well?

Title, pretty much, sums it up.

On just about any and every website marketplace I've looked at lately, it seems as though people are just falling all over themselves trying to purchase AdSense sites. Why do these sell so incredibly well versus their affiliate counterparts?

    Hi

I think the are a number of reasons.

The primary reason is they remain 'set and forget' income. If an AdSense site is ranked and making money, it doesn't take to much to maintain that. Simply add it to your portfolio of sites and have your outsourcers maintain with some content and backlink updating.

    Compare this to other sites:

Amazon Sites - These sites may look great and make money but they require much more maintenance. A few months after you buy the site, there may be new models or more popular products so suddenly your income generating site is selling items that are no longer popular. It can take more work to maintain an Amazon site.

Service Sites - These are hot right now. The sites offer SEO, Backlink, Writing services that are tied to a cheap outsource service. This is great and these sites can make money, but you need to keep marketing the service and driving traffic to the site. Again, more work. You are also always at risk at losing your service source and then will need to find another provider.

ECommerce Sites - These are very popular for selling and can provide a great income, but the market is limited as there are far few buyers willing to take on and maintain a true ecommerce site.

Clickbank/Affiliate sites - Again, although these sites can make good money, it is more difficult to make consistent sales and income without building a list. In addition, the product the site is based on could disappear from the affiliate marketplace or be replaced by a better or more popular product.

Cookie Cutter Sites with No Income - Who would buy one of these? Seriously.

Of course, all of this is my own opinion along with some wild speculation.....

Pretty much this. Google Adsense sites are much more easier to maintain than other types of sites and tend to bring in a more consistent income compared to other sites.

I think the 'set and forget' passive income is the key. Very appealing to buyers.

EDIT: We must have been responding at the same time But we were thinking the same.

Also, the income is stable. It won't fluctuate like other form of advertising.
It's very far from being stable if you depend on google traffic. Another algo update and all your income is gone. If you haven't done any research and case studies you might not be aware of how risky this might be.

For example, a bunch of websites was sold on flippa for $2,500
    https://flippa.com/147768-95-last-30...e-1-no-reserve
They were all ranking on first page. Half a year later most if not all the rankings were gone. You can search for 'cremation prices' 'cruises to jamaica' 'hospitality uniforms' or any other keywords and try to find the websites.
I hope the buyer made at least his/her investment back. I don't think those sites made any profit. Let's be honest, those are rather useless sites, so why would anyone visit or link to them and why should google rank them? Just because they have some artificial backlinks?

Because people think it's a truly passive income thing. No work involved. They don't take into consideration that your traffic can disappear in a heartbeat at Google's whim.

I Agree with the comments above, people are just innately lazy that the sound of passive income seems too good to pass out. Though, MFA sites are less strenuous to maintain... It's fate generally lies with its current traffic, so if you unfortunately purchased a MFA site with a really low quality network of backlinks and content.. Well that's a whole different story...

The trick is to get low comp keywords and rank them up fast, getting you more traffic and clicks. The idea is to give information but not exactly answering the viewers questions, this is where the adsense ads come in handy.

Adsense is basically unoptimized as well, a lot of times you can run offers & make quite a bit more

Easy income. All somebody has to do is click on an ad and you make money. A nice large site like this that's properly set up, can sell very quickly. Even small niche sites too.
