Donating for Links on High Traffic Blogs

I remember there was a website that let you browse through an inventory of real blogs and offer 'donations' to get permanent 1-way backlinks from them. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I am driving myself batty trying to remember the name of this website....

It's not:
i) TextLinkBrokers.com (although I am considering their services, if they would ever get back in touch with me)
ii) LinkWorth.com (I find their inventory to be quite low-quality and there's no way a backlink from their sites would survive a manual review)

Thanks for the help.

  • Many charities and organizations will be glad to offer a link back to those who make donations. The same applies to blogs that raise money. As long as the link comes from an established blog that is related to your niche, you can use this strategy to get more backlinks.

Those 1-way links are considered link farms. Many sites have
them. They make a page, and stuff as many links on it as
they can. Very low level links, and just not worth it.

Besides, with all the talk about "paid" links, having a link
broadcasted as "paid" would not seem like a good idea.

Just because it's a "donation" does not mean it's not paid.
      Paid is paid is paid.

All the links I sell to brokers, have made sure I have nothing
on my site that says I am offering to sell links, charity
      or not.

I am not one to think such links hurt. But not hurting is
not helping either. No way are you going to get traffic from
those links. Being a link on a page with what could be
hundreds of paid links is just junk.

Buying advertising is not the same thing.

This isn't at all what I was talking about. But thanks for your contribution.

I think I've been looking for exactly the same website a while back. I think it was one where you can add your own blog and when someone searches for a particular field, your blog comes up.

Sadly can't remember the name though

Most think that it was God who created man in his own image but it was us who created God in ours.

It wasn't text link ads was it? Reading your post it doesn't quite sound right but worth a shot!

Love to know what it is though

There are lots of link building sites available - one that I really like is Brad Callen's SEOLinkVine that allows members to post content on other people's blogs. It is a great way to build lots of links in a very short time.
