Quick question about google slap!

I've searched the forum and found some good info but I just want to make sure to be safe.

My page rank recently went from a 2 to a 1 because of some 404s, and unnatural links that are pointing to my site.

I wanted to ask you guys if you think I'll have trouble with increasing my rank again if I continue bringing in fresh content and acquiring quality links.

Or should I get a new url?

I'm assuming that I haven't been black listed because my site is still indexed.

Thanks for your time!

Mark

I watched a webinar yesterday that showed somebody who had been hit by Panda. What he did was:

    His slapped domain - orphan.com

    **These are EXAMPLE DOMAINS**

So, he bought a new domain - orphanS.com

He then redirected ALL pages EXCEPT for the homepage with 301redirects.

All of his search traffic and PR was restored.

Thanks a lot. But getting a new domain would mean starting from square one right? You wouldn’t happen to know where that webinar was would you? Thanks a lot!

    DNAWRealm,

How long did it take for the new domain to gain pagerank?

Think it was within 2-3weeks. I know they managed to get back to their previous amount of search traffic.

This is not a slap from Google. 404s would not cause a decrease in PR. You probably just lost some links. Get better links with actual PR and you will see it go back up in an update or two. No need to abandon the domain. You are not being penalized.
