Why I can't see my website on Google search result page for general keywords please?

My website: designpromote Edinburgh (google keywords)
What I do: Edinburgh based web design and promote service provider
History: 1.5 months, but it was updated from previous one (***.co.uk) 1.5 years
Google Keywords: Web design Edinburgh
Results: It's not listed within 900 results on Google (I checked manually)

Title: Web Design Edinburgh - Design Promote for your business
Title (2 days ago): DesignPromote - Low cost web design and promote(SEO)

Google site result: "DesignPromote - Low cost web design and promote(SEO)
Quality web Design and promote for your business from £49. A growing design & SEO team in Edinburgh. Contact ***"

My question: why I can't see my website on SERP on Google for the above keywords

I know it sounds ridiculous as I offer promote service. However I am keen to learn. Is it because I didn't use proper keywords such as "web design edinburgh" before? But I have included the in the description.

    Your "growing design & SEO team" should be able to answer this for you!
    Why offer SEO if you know so little about it, if you are good at design then stick to design, you will only end up with upset clients and a bad reputation if you offer services and let clients down.

      This was my first thought as well. Not to mention that the website is riddled with typos and basic english syntax errors.

      You offer SEO, yet you opt to put "home" in h1 tags for your homepage? I would re assess your product before moving forward with this project

      It's why I keen to learn and try to work out the reason.
      I have been studying SEO for months now, reading documents from Google and other websites, searching keywords for title and description, building sitemaps, using google analytic and webmaster tools. I didn't build back links particularly, as I mentioned, I had a website before for 1.5 years, but no enquiry, no traffic, (at that time, I didn't have knowledge about SEO).

      I know my website should provide contents, different titles for each pages and I am thinking to change it based on wordpress.

      However, I don't understand why for Google keywords "Web design Edinburgh", it wasn't here after I checked the first 900 lists manually, when I have hundreds visitor for last 30 days.

    honestly, if you want to rank your keywords on Google ( i did, and it all happened in 7 days).
    - Build backlinks from Social Bookmarking with title and user name : your keyword.
    - Write your keywords in Bold or H1 in your articles
    - Build backlinks from .edu and .gov or from high PR website ( tumblr, twitter, facebook, google plus...)
    - Put your feed/rss to where can let you submit

    Backlinks : about 20 - 30

    And wait , see the result in 7 days

    Surely your keywords will increase

      If he follow these tips, his website is surely going to penalize. Because you are telling him to do social bookmarking with keyword in title as well as in username. Which surely looks like a spam. After the recent penguin update, you should be careful about link building. User different keywords for different backlinks.

        I don't want rank my website higher now. I try to work out the reason, as a genius service provider in Edinburgh, my website was not listed in the first 900 results on Google for general keywords: web design Edinburgh.

    I'm going to try to help you out here and I'm going to be very honest. Please don't take offence at any suggestions I make.

    Firstly, it's obvious that English isn't your first language. I counted 11 spelling and grammatical mistakes on your home page. I strongly suggest you hire someone to proof-read and correct all of the content on your site.

    Now, the reason your site is not ranking for "Web design Edinburgh". This is because your website does not contain the words "Web design Edinburgh" ANYWHERE in your content. Google can only index what it can read, and if it doesn't feel your site is relevant to that search query, then it won't return your page in the results, no matter what title you give it.

    I run a web design company in Derby. My primary keyword phrase is "web design Derby" for which there are 37400 exact match results in Google. I am currently ranked at number 3. It's taken me about a year to get there and a lot of on-page and off-page SEO. In Edinburgh you've got nearly twice the competition - 71000 exact matches for "web design Edinburgh". If you want to compete with the big boys in town, you HAVE to step up your game.

    Now to consider the design of your site. If you are offering web design, then your site has to absolutely impress the visitor. I am guessing that you outsource any design jobs you get? Go and buy a theme on Themeforest, install it (either Wordpress or HTML - I'd suggest WP) and customize it.

    I hope this helps and you didn't take offence at anything I said.

        I don't know much about penguin. I try to understand why my site is on Google, I am a genius web designer, why I can't see the site on google on general keywords. As other member suggested, 71000 reach results, may mean I should look much deeper than the first 900 results on Google.

      Regarding to your comments:
      1. I am not native speaker but I only found 2 errors, would ask my friend for help. The contents except for "about us" were copied from other site with minor changes.
      2. I don't outsource because I can't find other people to design a page website and take photos for £49.
      3. I tried to change template based on 2011 on wordpress. Certainly, I will use pre-designed template on Themeforest or Wootheme in the future.
      4. I misled by the information about Google when I studied SEO. I was thinking Google was half human and half machine, but actually, it's still a pure machine, I need to tell it exactly what it was.

      May I ask some questions please?
      1. I suppose 71000 or 37400 don't mean the number of company or individuals offering web design service, are they for the total search results on Google please?
      2. Be on No 3 on google, would it make lots of enquiry and business for you please? If one day, my website is on the first page of Google, I hope it is worth all the hard work I did.
