Quick question about homepage SEO

One of my clients sites has the following setup,
header>menu>two sliders (on top of each other)> footer

Now I normally deal with content rich homepages, so I have never really had this problem.

I am just wondering do we apply the same sort of strategies off page. And is there any on-page optimization I can do?

Cheers,

I've worked with clients who had the same types of sites and explained the problems they faced with a "visual rich, but content poor" home page. They added a little more text, but opted to really build the "About" page and other pages with an extra dose of content. In many cases, the subpages ranked better than the home page for some key terms. If the slider is flash based, that could add extra problems as well.
Be sure they do a good job naming all their pics with relevant keywords and make titles for them as well just to give google a little extra help.
My client never got the ranks they wanted for a long time and have decided to finally redesign the site. I keep telling them "It doesn't matter how pretty the site is if no one can find it."

Home page seo is most important for any website because this is main page
if you want quick home page seo then use h1 tag on main keyword and domain
must be related to your keyword

Yes, I totally agree with maxtour1, also, be sure to make the title tag keyword relevant. But if the client insists on light home page content, what can you do but abide by their wishes and then you need to optimize anything else possible.
