Three years ago I sold my house using a website I built and optimised and when we moved house I bought a new domain with a view to ranking it when we went to sell.

I installed wordpress, uploaded a few dozen photos and a few posts and just left it. I looked last week and it ranks page 2 pos 4 on google for the main keyword.

So thinking I would do something to try and improve that I used rss feeds from rightmove, globrix and 1 other trying to give the site relevant content on it. Before I got a chance to do some blog posts I got some paid work and so I attended to that.

Went back two days later to write a few blog posts, checked the ranking and the site has disappeared from the rankings, double checked with a few SEO tools, nothing inside the top 100 but the site still has 65 pages indexed in Google.

Is the site irreparably damaged?
Is this just the usual google dance?
Is it likely to bounce back or did the RSS feeds damage the ranking?
If I remove the RSS Feeds will it revive and repair the ranking?
Is this domain now ranked as a spam blog?

Your ideas/opinions/thoughts are appreciated

Did you get any feedback from webmastertools? seodecompiler mentioned that it might comeback and I agree sometimes its a wait and see game for Google to make adjustments. I've found that reversing the last thing changed whenever I see a drop works for me.

If you plan to do the wait and see, 3 rss feeder flooding your site all of a sudden seems like a lot. I would atleast shut down 2 of the 3 feeds and wait so if damage is being done by having them, you are slowing it down. If you notice that it's still not working after a few weeks, then remove all the feeds and all the content they added then wait to see if it comes back up again.

Have reduced the RSS feeds to 1 and have added a two posts over the past weekend. Will continue over the next week and leave alone apart from the blog posts. Will be interesting to see if it is a dance or the RSS feeds were too much. Thanks for your replies.
