It would seem my domain has been banned. Why?

I posted this on the webmasters central on google.

Hi There,

I have a domain name that I have held for many years. hbbpartners.co.uk In the past I have had various e-book content on the site but recent I only had it parked. I did once have the domain ranked at 4. But In the past month I decided I would use the domain for a 301 redirect to a landing page. Nothing sneaky. Just a landing page to a program I started. Now all of sudden my domain has been dropped from the google index. I would like to know why?

You had the domain parked. It wasn't active. I am not sure if Google can spider a park domain. You possible have to re-submit again when domain become active.

My domain is active. It's just using a 301 redirect. And the domain has been completly removed from google index.

I don't think there's really any such thing as a banned domain. So a poor choice of words on your part which many here do. The word "index" is also used wrongly in my opinion by many. It means that search engine have crawled your page(s) and stored whatever information they store in order to determine your ranking for whatever query is asked.

You have not been "dropped" from the index. You just are not ranking highly for whatever keywords you are targeting. One reason: poor quality page.

Also, if the domain is 301ed, there is nothing to index except for the new domain that it points to.

I guess I don't see the problem, the domain isn't being used so they removed it from the index and probably have the site it was pointing to indexed.

Sounds like common sense to me
