This post and others are pretty straight forward. Some of your backlinks were deleted, became no follow, lower PR then they previously were, or you did something negative to your website.

This may happen due to various reasons like :

1.> You dofollow links are converted to nofollow [in last 1 year many dofollow sites have changed to nofollow]

2.> Link removal of your website from high pr websites

3.> Decrement in Pagerank of those websites on which your link was placed

4.> Google algorithms etc.. and many more reasons ....

Try creating new and fresh high pr links for your website to regain its lost pr in the next google pr update.

I think your sites page rang might have decreased cause of on page or HTML/CSS errors . It is also possible that you have not promoted your sites to high PR link building websites.

Yes this might be the reason. Nowadays you need to keep creating links inorder to have a stable ranking, otherwise you'll end up loosing PR

May be that is one reason. How often did you update content during that time period? That is also another factor which determines Google PR. Anyhow, I don't think that you have to worry about this now, as there is no DIRECT link between PR and SERP of a website. So, I would suggest you to go for more campaign and frequent updates of content, make sure you target the RIGHT keyword (Keyword with decent amount of search volume per month)

I think of 2 main reasons for your drop

1. Copyright issue

2. Bad link building strategy

The solutions:

Remove all links that break the copyrigth term , any prolems related to copyright

Use the latest incoming link remove from webmaster tools to deny bad links ( especially from spam software

)

You should realize that real PR that is used in searching and indexing system,
is a number between 0 and infinite. Mathematically there's no limit on the maximum
value of PR. The toolbar PR that you use as a metric, is most probably a normalized
logarithmic scale of the real PR that is used in the system.

Normalized PR, because you won't ever have seen a pr greater than 10 nor less than
zero, no matter how many backlinks you have and how much great backlinks and
unique contents you have.

So you will lose toolbar PR as other pages will grow in pr.
This is acceptable since a PR6 page in 6 years ago have had fewer backlinks
than a PR6 page todays.
