Can you please let me know, What are the current techniques being used by the professionals in promoting the brand name and What will be better SMO or SEO?

I searched a lot by browsing. But still i am not clear on this. I hope your ideas will help me know.

      PPC and social media and video marketing. You need to get the word out there fast.

    Advertise your site in PPC, Facebook's sponsored ads until your brand gets popular. Once if your brand gets popular you will get a lot of organic and direct traffic automatically. After popularity you don't need advertising.

    Build a strong social media presence, manage a facebook page with your official brand name.. promote your stuff, grow fans, reach out to them, engage them, create giveaways contest etc. you can do alot on twitter as well like playing with hastag and stuff tweeting with buzz, tweeting customers feedback, engaging and replying to queries etc. Try pinterest share visualised images facts about your products and about your company, create surveys etc. you can do alot with social media.. have you tried anything yet?

      Yet, i didn't start promoting my brand. Before that, i need some more knowledge on brand promotion even though i have experience in SEO because promoting business sites and promoting a brand both are different. Thats why i asked professionals to learn more. Anyway, i got ideas from your post and this kind of posts is what i am expecting.     Social media is enough i think, if we do well in Social Media. In social media, we can reach the real users and can promote our brand in both real world and internet as well. Lost of time investment needed to promote a brand completely in social media. If we do it carelessly, it may lead to negative promotion to our brand name. We can get popularity but not the promotion if we do it wrongly.

        Yeah.. It seems, you are catching my mind and this is what i am planning actually.. And you told some more points i need to add in my plan. Actually, i didnt add video contents in my plan. It makes me think to promote using video materials also. Shall i use videos on both Social media and blogging? is it worth if i use in both?
