game website game ads just get rid of your visitors?

Hello i was wondering if game ads just get rid of your visitors from your own game website.
These ads wil be clicked probably more than normal ads as people are trying to find good online games to play but wont this just loose you visits?
It is advertising competition? but seeing as you have already made abit from the cpm ads would this be okay for the visitor to exist your website or is it best to keep them on your website?

    Hi,

    This is a situation where you need to analyze your traffic and determine how they get to the page and what they are looking for. If you are providing what they are searching for, then no, you shouldn't give them the option to click away, if however there is a complementary game or service, something that provides additional value, then it is a good thing.

    On the other hand, if you're not providing exactly what they're searching for, then having an ad that does can make you some money.

    Everyone is going to leave your site at some point, the difference you can make is how? Do you want them pressing the back button or clicking an ad to something else they may be interested in as well.

    One of those pays, one doesn't....

    Thank you for the reply's i guess if my website is better than the game ads ones then they will just click the ad see its not as good then go back?

    I have a good share of return visitors, so yeah if you are offering something better then everyone else then when users go check out other sites...they just might return.

    I seriously try not to get to bogged down into why users do what they do, I focus on creating something better then the other sites on the 1st page and let the rest just happen because that is all I can control.
