Anchor text selection for link building......same anchor text for all links on word that we want ranking or chose different anchor text.........:confused: how we get rank on specific keyword that we want rank..!? some website have very heavy competition On-Page SEO is not enough its needs Off-Page SEO... back-linking so please someone help me on Anchor Text Selection?

      It is recommended to vary your anchor text. Include your targeted keywords and key phrases in the anchor text. If the niche you are interested in is highly competitive, them you should do proper research and choose less competitive keywords that are relevant to your site.

    It is a very good question and this is what I was thinking for last 2 days. Though link diversity has become very important, I think google will fetch the main keyword from the site's keyword tags and will rank it according to those keywords.

    I find just changing them up now and again is just fine. I also feel if you vary to much then you'll never get the main one your working on.

    I concur with Extreme DoFollow. You don't want too much diversity because you won't get the effect you want. I usually have 5-10 keyword phrases that I use as anchor text and usually rank pretty fast for it.

    Use 25% target keyword, 25% target keyword with variations and adjectives, 25% deop keywords or LSI keywords (check here, click here, etc.), and 25% URL/domain keywords. This works great especially if you don't want to get penalized.

    using only one anchor text for all your backlinks is not a good idea, they must be very diverse

    If you are building links in which you have a say in the anchor text then it is probably pretty unnatural.

    I do not recommend doing too much of this at all. But if you must, choose different keywords all the time. Try building links for about 20 different anchor texts per page of the website.
