Are Facebook Ads Full of Bots?

Okay, I may have done too little testing, but I'm not liking my results so far.

Started out a campaign earlier, and everything was looking good.

14 clicks, 7 opt ins. Not bad.

But that's when things started to go sour.

Went up to 50 clicks by the time I ran out of my test budget - but no more opt-ins!

My ending CTR was around a .11%, which isn't amazing but not bad for my first test ad. What boggles me is that I stopped getting opt-ins after my first 14 clicks or so.

And I know my landing page is good. That's not the issue.

But get this..

Although I did have a Google Analytics code mishap at around 20 clicks, my stats are still only showing 9 Facebook Referrals.

Since I skipped about the first 20 clicks, we're talking 9 out of 30 (supposed) clicks are getting registered by my Analytics.

So to end my test, $20 in the hole, 50 clicks, 7 opt ins to my squeeze page. All that after going 14:7 to start off the campaign.

And then I start reading about all these reports:

It wouldn't surprise me. Facebook needs to bring in some click fraud/filtering experts and get it working the way it should.

I wouldn't mess with FB ads at all. Stick with Adwords (if they dont ban you as soon as they approve you), or go with Microsoft Adcenter.

      Definitely.

I'll be sticking with Adcenter for now, seeing as AdWords didn't like the fact that I'm exchanging an opt-in for a free video.

No ban thankfully, but I did get a slap on the wrist. :p
