One of my CPA sites was badly hit by Google penguin. The site was averaging $20 to $30 a day and after penguin hit it, the earnings hit the rock bottom of $0 to $4 daily. The site was almost offline for a month.

What I did?
I checked all articles (around 52), lower the keyword density to 2% (before 5%) and mask all CPA links using pretty links plugin.

A day before yesterday, my 0 ranking started to climb to 80, then 45, today it's on 7th. The highest position was 3rd before penguin hit it. I am starting to see revenue again as of today I got $23.

I did not touch anything about backlinking. Just proper internal backlinking and making post more user friendly. I know many of us here hit by penguin. My advice, do not build and build and build backlinks using robots. Instead, fix your content.

    Well done Adie.

There is another big Penguin update about to hit (supposedly BIG) so hopefully you will survive that one too.

Most sites hit by penguin are niche blogs, article directories, money-making related sites.

Sites like forums, ecommerce, portals, company sites and the like seems exempted....

Yeah, big sites like forums (with thousands of new 'pages' per day) will never be hit.

Probably was an over optimization penalty!
