Linking to a Sub-Domain?

Quick question...

If I build links to a post or page from my blog and those links are picked up in the future...

Are those links picked up as links to the actual domain or registered to the sub domain?

For example if I build a link to www.domain.com/pagetitle would the link be registered there or would it correspond with www.domain.com?

Cheers.

Don't necessarily know what you mean by "registered" or "correspond" or quite clearly understand your question.

If you point links to "site B" from "site A"; then all things being equal, "site B" will receive "link love" (reputation, authority, etc.) from "site A". "Site A" is the author site; and "site B" the recipient. You can link "A" to any page on "B"; but "B" is the page that will be followed (and hopefully indexed) by that specific link. "B" will receive any "link love" whether it's the home page (domain) or a sub page.

I assume you are talking about Google love. The link is associated with the page, not the domain. Hence the term "Page Rank". How the rank of individual page affect the whole will mostly depend on your internal linking structure.

You are getting a bit confused as to what a sub-domain is.

    Primary domain

    example.com

    Sub-domains

    products.example.com
    sales.example.com
    etc

To answer your question about backlinks, the page you build your backlinks to gets most of the credit. However, domain authority is established based on all your backlinks.
