Hi warrior members. I am confused - is Google kidding me ? Recently I did some guest posts on 6 highly authoritative and reputed sites in my niche. Two sites were pr6, one was pr5 while other 3 were pr4 and pr2.
Do i need to build more high quality back-links before the search engines start sending me traffic ? Please help..
Please note : My website is only 1 month and 20 days old

Any suggestions ??

Posting articles on high PR sites does not equate to automatic organic success. Organic search still depends on the keyword competition for the keywords you optimized your articles for, the competition between the level of authority between the 2 sites, the level of authority each of the 2 sites holds for that specific keyword, the number of back links between the specific competing pages (your article and their page), and a number of other factors.

So, does that mean that Guest Posting = No improvement in SERPs ?

        Directly no. Indirectly yes.

Guest posting helps you to get exposure from traffic relevant to your industry. By getting that exposure (assuming you are writing high quality original content and not regurgitated content everyone already knows just to get an easy back link) you drive their traffic to your site to help you get backlinks from their traffic as well as new followers. You also get the power of a high ranking PR backlink which equals a lot of weight in the eyes of the search engines.

Add to that that over time the actual guest post you did could get enough back links pointed at it through community traffic and other variations of keyword phrases embedded within the content to create more authority than the original article already ranking on the first page of Google for the keywords you were looking to rank for. In that case your article has the potential to surpass theirs.

Just remember, relevant back links are like votes.

  • As you say your site is just 1 month and 20 days old, There is lot to do to get traffic from search engine. It is not easy to out rank the competitors who are getting online business. Your site is still very new. Build lots of quality backlinks. Write good posts and article and post them on high authoritative sites. Do SMO for branding. All this will help you in getting quality backlinks which ultimately results in good ranking and thus you will get traffic from search engines. Its jut my opinion though.

You must constantly build backlinks, especially if you are in a niche where there is a moderate or/to high competition.... Keep building backlinks, not only from guest posts.

Give it time and remember that your post is actually a PR 0. Unless it stays on the homepage for some length of time, but generally that's not the case with sites that are updated often. However, there is a good chance that it will get some juice and be a worthwhile link.

Keep going with your marketing. And diversify. Get more guest posts but also start commenting on high quality blogs in your niche. Create videos and your own Youtube channel. Create a Facebook, Twitter, and Google + profile and update them frequently. You want to think branding. Do this and do it consistently and you'll start seeing some big traffic.

Another thing that might help is to point some links at your guest posts. Build up the PR. Do a video, some articles, some social media links, etc. and point them at the urls of the guest posts.

Your website is only 2 months old. It needs more than 6 backlinks to rank. When did you guest post? They may not even be indexed by Google yet.

SEO takes time. There is no magic formula.

Keep doing what you are doing weekly for 6 more months then come talk to us about results. Keep building those backlinks!

I started guest posting right from the day one of creating my blog. I did all the guest posts on highly relevant and authoritative blogs in my niche and all of my guest articles are very well indexed by Google. Perhaps, i need to build more quality back-links to start ranking well in search results!
Should i opt for other back-linking strategies as well ?

Guest posting is a very good technique to get high quality backlinks and getting a huge exposure of a site. But patience is the main game in internet marketing. You cannot expect a 2 month old site to rank in first place with 6 guest post links.

I could not agree with some people here who are telling that guest posting = no SERP. You will not be able to provide a single authorized resource where you will be able to prove your statement.

I would like to suggest @abhigoogle to continue posting contents in your website and building backlinks through various eays. You will surely get higher ranking.
