Hi Warriors,

As we know already, Google is running updates very often nowadays. Why Google takes this much effort? For users? I think, Google interests in providing most related results for users at the same time, Google never forget about its revenue. The reason why I am telling this is Google revenues increased after the penguin update.

Sure, Google is a business like any other site out there trying to manipulate rankings.

Yes. of course.. But It seems , Google is ruling all over the internet including E-Commerce. Takes over rights in manipulating the sites.

Then, Google don't want to let others to manipulate search results.. standing like a BOSS..

Well, that is a pretty dumb assumption considering that Google's revenues increased for something like 12 straight quarters before Penguin.

As you said, its my assumption only because i am not an expert here. Am a beginner. Actually, i asked this here only for me to learn about this clearly. Percentage of its increasing revenue is increasing now greater than before Penguin update. Confused...

Actually, by percentage, their growth was pretty stagnant.

Their revenue on Paid Clicks and Cost-Per-Click went up about 1% each from the first quarter to the second quarter. Second quarter of course is when Penguin came out.

After you said about profit in Second Quarter, I searched in Google about this. I've read an article which tells completely about its unusual revenue and what because of.

Webmasters Claim Google's Financial Success Due To Penguin

But others say, it drives users to be unhappy with the organic results and leads them to click on search ads.

The vast majority of Google users are actually happy with their search results. Disgruntled IM'ers ..don't count for much.

yes. I agree with you... but Google concentrate on its income more than users satisfaction it seems. users were unsatisfied with Google's organic results and this could be the reason for users' interest in search ads.

I agree, happy users - increase in revenue. But one doubt, if users are happy in Organic results, why should they go for search ads by google? Google got revenue by its paid clicks only.

I take a different view on this, Google owns the market share and I cannot change how or what Google does.. so why worry about it? As far as business goes, Google isn't going to do anything to diminish their market share, so I believe their overall goal with each update is to improve the results. More people searching = more business.

I do think their agressive update behavior is tied to things like rumors of Facebook pushing their ads beyond Facebook. You also have a new CEO over at Yahoo now who is fairly sharp.

This is exactly how I would put it!

Well, I guess, if the OP is talking about Penguin and the rest of the zoo, it's more related to the Web spam problem after all.

Yahoo has a new CEO, she used to work for Google.

If you are trying to figure out what Google is doing, you generally don't watch them but rather watch what the others are doing. Google is a public company now so it's primary focus (besides earn money) is to keep ahead of the competition.

Ya. I also heard about Yahoo got the Google's staff as their CEO. Of course, Google is public company so that am setting my focus on its services and revenue as well. Just wanted to clear myself..

The answer to the OP's question, is both. Google looks out for
their customers, (the end user, searcher) which affects their
    paying customers, (adwords users, advertisers).

Google could give a darn about YOUR business, however. People
sometimes mistake google for someone behind the curtain, fiddling
with levers that target their site. Nothing could be further from
the truth. They don't care about you (or me) and the piddly sites
we create hoping to get some crumbs from google. People just
    cannot get over themselves.
