I have a horrible idea, I mean it's terrible

So I was thinking of doing something revolutionary by having a follow my progress thread, but with a actual blog that I've made. This way people can see what type of links I will build and how long it takes to rank among other things. I would like to use one of my new amazon sites, and even report how much traffic and earning it receives, in theory it sounds like fun.

The reason why I say it's a bad idea is for some reason I have those who don't like me, or people who would try to be a smart a$$ and ruin the whole thing by using negative seo or other methods that I may not even be familiar with.

What are your thoughts on this?

Sounds like a terrible idea to to me! j/k

You can make it work by not directly outing your domain or by showing exactly where you're building your links, etc. You can still show earnings and your methods without giving everything away.

Don't let fear of the unknown stop you. But you probably shouldn't use a valuable domain name either because of the things you've mentioned.

There are a lot of not so nice people around and we have to protect ourselves but we also have to continue to live our lives, help others, etc. In other words, find the balance and go for it if this is what you want to do.

I really wanted to show the site url and everything, but I guess I'm living in dream world if I think people wont mess with the site. It's sad because it could be such a learning experience for everyone including me.

Well maybe I can do what Nicky suggests and just not show the url.

I'd really appreciate if you do that. not only we'll get to see a real success story (unlike the most of the threads here) but we'll also get to see how you build links and your strategy to rank a website. It surely would be very helpful for any newbie out here.

but again its a valid argument that the spammers here might spam your site to death. my suggestion- "tell me in PM", so that way nobody gets hurt. its a win win situation for both of us.
      HA ha ha

I'm kind of mad because I think all noobs and myself would learn from actually seeing things done in real time, you know , having full disclosure on information. There's a big difference in what is said on the wf about what works and what doesn't work and what actually works.

For example couple years back everybody said no-follow links don't work to rank a page, yet I sent a bunch of spammy no-follow blog comments to a single post and it went from position 19 to 7. At the time I didn't know any better or else I would never had done that.

Over the course of the last couple yrs I have seen many things said on wf about seo, and how this wont work or that wont work, it would be nice for everybody to see for their self instead of being told.

oh and btw, mike's idea sounds good to me. and maybe he'll tell me the secrets later.
You know what maybe I'll make a blog with updates on my progress and only give the blog address to certain people.

close to what I had in mind but mums the word on anything further on that and yes you are still fired. Blog would work too. Wasn't talking about just me looking over your site though and quit the humility. I can learn a ton load from you especially since you are now unemployed from our scam operation. Should have much more time on your hands.

If you have any adsense sites, I'd not go for it.

Negative SEO does not work, never has, never will.
Complete waste of time. But they can wreak havoc
with your adsense sites using various methods.
I am not talking about click bombing.

And they could easily track your other sites if they
have any bread crumbs sprinkled around the net.

Don't people think the WF has been tried to be dumped
using negative SEO or any other nefarious method?
Never is going to happen. And they have an army
      working against them.

Negative SEO aside, it's not worth the hassle.
Too many haters. Too many spammers. Too many wannabes.
The thread would be stuffed beyond your control.

Just feed us tidbits as time goes on.

As Yoda would say "there is another" (way)

Would you be willing to do it behind close doors before revealing it. Maybe a few trusted eyes before the reveal?

Idk, I mean you did fire me earlier today, but sure why not. Besides I would be the one learning, you can tell me what you think of my sites.

Paul's right. BIG mistake for at least a few reasons. Never give out too much information. Share what you find really works and most of us will appreciate it, but never divulge too much personal stuff.

For example couple years back everybody said no-follow links don't work to rank a page, yet I sent a bunch of spammy no-follow blog comments to a single post and it went from position 19 to 7.
Just a week ago I discovered the "magic" of a single 40 second youtube video. It may be "nofollow" but Google loves youtube for getting any site indexed in hours and giving the site an instant boost.

I agree with Paul. While there are plenty of awesome people here who would love to see a case study, unfortunately there are a few that would love to try and steal your niche's, get your affiliate accounts banned, etc. It's a shame, but it's why I always suggest that people DON'T openly share their sites, keywords, etc.

Yeah, just don't disclose your actual domain name - nobody ever does.

It's hardly revolutionary. There's been plenty of similar threads in the WF. One of the most well known being:

However, if you do decide to go ahead, then I congratulate you.

I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!

The revolutionary aspect of it would have been the part about showing my actual url.
