Anyone experiencing problems indexing websites?

Hey WF!

I created a site on August 7th which hasn't been indexed by Google as yet. Normally I am able to index and rank sites within a few days but I'm really struggling with this one.

The site is in the "weight loss" niche. Backlinking consists of Social Bookmarks and YouTube video. I have also added sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools (I never have to do this!).

I'm stumped. Any suggestions?

Sanj.

I just go to "Yahoo! Answers" and ask this question.
"Has anyone had experiences using this site http://www.whateverthesiteis.com?"

Thant usually gets it crawled in a few minutes...

Have you check if the domain you're using is not a drop domain? This may cause the problem if the domain were banned before

Yes same problem. I created a blogger site about 5 days ago. Pinged with pingler and social bookmarked. Not indexed still.

I have experienced some sites that can't get indexed for weeks no matter what I do. Most of them get indexed really quickly. But they do all eventually get indexed. Just the luck of the draw, maybe.

Use fetch as Google option from Google webmaster tool, Google assure you that within 24 hours your site will be indexed. I think that will help you indexed your site in Google.

    Hope this helps

Thanks seofirst. I've just tried a Fetch and Submit to Index. I don't normally have to do that but this particular site hasn't been indexed for 20+ days now. Back in July I managed to get a site indexed and ranked in 3 days...YES 3 DAYS!

I suspect some jiggery pokery from the Google machine...

OK I think I know the problem. Just had a look at the Crawl Errors and here's what I found:

"Google couldn't crawl your site because we were unable to access the robots.txt file".

    How do I fix this???
