Having Trouble Finding My Google Page Ad Code

I paid someone to modify my website a few weeks ago. They applied a new theme. I was using the instructions on this page to attain the ability to place ads within my blog posts wherever I wanted.

Before my theme was changed, I was able to place the ads wherever I wanted by using the shortcode [showmyads]. After the theme was changed, the ads disappeared, because the functions.php file was replaced.

So after the new theme was in place, instead of ads, what shows up (where the ads used to show up) when you're viewing my blog is "[showmyads]."

Today, I tried to get the ads to show up again, so I added the code from the webpage I referenced in the first paragraph.

The code I'm supposed to put in my functions.php file asks for me to paste my Adsense Ad Code into the code. I went into Adsense, and my Ad units page is blank. Because of this, I don't know what code to paste into the functions.php file.

According to Google (https://support.google.com/adsense/b...&answer=157492), I need to update my old ad code to some new format.

My problem is, I don't know what my old ad code is or was. The instructions on that page on Google says that I need to find my ad code from within my website, but I don't know where to find it.

I don't recall ever using the ad code on my website, all I ever used was "[showmyads]" to get the ads to show where I wanted them to.

Questions:

1. Is there anyway possible to retrieve my old Adsense ad code, or do I need to create a new ad unit to get the code that I need to insert into the script the author has posted on his site?

Thanks for your help!
