Facebook: No impressions problems and more

Is anyone else having a problem with Facebook over the last few days. I have got a few campaigns running but with no impressions for the past few days.
I've run campaigns fine before, I am bidding with CPC on the higher end of the suggested bid. I've changed some ads to CPM still nothing.

I think there is either a problem with Facebook or my account as it's been so buggy of the last few days. I've tried to change things it stays the same, or it give me an error code but it's changed. I've also tried to create another ad to test the suggested bid, but the suggested bid just stays the same $0.25-$0.42, I've put in really high expensive terms and it's still doesn't change.

On their forum someone else is having the same issue, I couldn't even comment on there, it said what I was writing was spam.

Is there a way to contact Facebook? I tried earlier and just got a standard message saying go to the forums

Sometimes you need to bid significantly higher than the upper range of the suggested bid to start receiving impressions in competitive markets. Once you establish a decent CTR, your effective CPCs will start dropping automatically.

I would also suggest checking the MyWot ratings of all the redirects in your link. For instance, in the past ads using HasOffers' default tracking link ("go2cloud") were getting automatically paused or stopped receiving impressions abruptly. If any of the redirect/tracking links have low ratings get them replaced with a new domain and try again.

    Hi Lots of ads

I don't think it's any of that my links are fine and I'm bidding high, my account has been really playing up last days. Lots of errors and things not changing. As I wrote previously tried to create another ad, but I noticed that the suggested bid did not move. I put in high value targets such as ipad, Iphone, etc which a few days ago got me a very expensive bid range, today it's just $0.25-$0.42! I know that is not right!

It's just annoying that you can't speak to anyone!

In terms of bugs such as the status or bids of ads not changing, try making the change individually on each ad. So rather than selecting multiple ads and - for instance - pausing them, change the status of each one manually and don't move on to the next until it changes. I've encountered bugs like these in the past as well.

As far as impressions are concerned, I often bid twice (or more) the upper end of the suggested bid. This should especially be the case if you're targeting popular keywords (such as "iPad") in a competitive demographic. I've often seen suggested bids in the $0.10 range, but haven't received traction till I was bidding $0.50+ per click.

If your active campaigns came to a halt suddenly and the MyWot ratings are fine, it's definitely very odd. Hopefully someone else can chime in and get this sorted for you.

    This happens to me sometimes.

    Try it.

    Hi

Thanks for your help, but I'm still having problems with low impressions.

My suggested bid is $0.25-$0.43 and my bid was $0.34, the highest impression I got was 434 and the average was 40 across my campaigns after 5 days!
My target audience is about 93,000 too!

I've increased it higher than the suggested bid range to see if I can get some impression.

Other people seem to be having the same issue too.
From the Facebook message help board
"Placed two FB ADs they are approved an am bidding at top end of recommended budget... it's been 3 days and 0 impressions. Any ideas? Range is 50 mile radius around major metro area."

"I've been having this problem too. I've sent 4 inquiries to their supporrt, and 3 replied back that everything is working fine. The 4th said, "yes, I see that you are not receiving impressions. Must be a technical issue. I will reply back when I find out more." That was about 6 hours ago. Meanwhile, I started another campaign for a different company. Same thing - approved ads with 0 impressions & activity. Something's going on.... "

Again, try bidding "much" higher. The fact that you received 434 impressions shows that bids is likely the issue. Set a low daily budget ($50) and raise bids significantly (I'm thinking around $0.80+ CPC). Your effective CPC will automatically reduce if your CTR is decent.

Also, your target demographic of 93,000 is quite small. I would highly suggest broadening the campaign's targeting if volume is your goal.

Don't trust the suggested ad range. Like suggested, raise your bid. The suggested range is not always right.

I would keep raising it until you see some impressions. It's not a glitch or anything like that. You just are not bidding high enough.

OK thanks again, I will give that a go, my ad actually targets just over 154K users. I've had campaigns target less users and have had impressions straight away.

    Hi
Well I did wack it up to $0.80 and I started to get impressions, the actual CPC was $0.70 which is just too high for my campaigns but at least I know where the issues lie.

Apart from this issue and being expensive FB advertising is poor, I've got so many thing wrong with my account like they have a bug where they keep on charging me VAT and I can't change it! Also when I try and change adverts they stay the same etc...

    Not impressed at all!

But thanks for the advice Lots of ads and Mike.

No problem, and glad it worked.

The traffic source is a beast once you figure it out. You can easily make several thousand dollars in profit daily. With most of the bugs, just make the changes and check back in a few minutes. It often takes several minutes for the changes to be updated. A bit annoying but the volume of traffic is well worth the wait.

Did you get it resolved? I had to pause my campaigns in the end as it got too expensive for what I was doing.
