Sites doing poorly in rankings despite increasing unique content

Guys,

I just wanted to share some Google webmaster trends with you for some sites that are simply not ranking despite following robust SEO practices that have otherwise helped me top Google searches for keywords. I am writing 400 word product reviews ensuring less than 3% keyword density, using social bookmarking/social media/web 2.0 for backlinking with a few forum posts with relevant discussions. The sites below are all around 2 - 3 months old and have NEVER appeared in the top 100 positions in Google searches. In recent weeks I have added more unique content but it has only made things worse!

Has anyone else seen this trend? I have other sites ranking really well using my method, so I can't understand what's going on...

Need more information, don't care about traffic #'s.. Only care about the SERP log results over time, so I can figure out the pattern and see what happended. Are they even in the top 1000? Looks like your website is in a dance right now, how long has this been going on for? When did you start this site, when did it get indexed? If it's brand new it's prob was in the grace period and now it's falling back down. Also is all of the content 400 words? That's a red flag you should be mixing it up 200 - 700 words to keep it looking natural.

A huge factor above all else is your link building, what were your plans? How many links did you build, etc. If you're not doing it correctly it's going to affect your rankings. As well is this a site that you copied, and just changed the content on, or is it a 100% unique website?

How are you doing your Web 2.0's are you updating them with content? Did you fill in the profiles, did you add videos, etc. Or did you just make a bunch with a single post for all of your sites.. Huge red flag again..

    Thanks Weedy92.

All the times I have checked, these sites have never made it into the top 500 positions. These sites were launched all in the month of June and have danced around positions 600 - 700. The sites were, however, indexed within a week of launching. Not all posts are 400, some are around 250 and others are in the region of 600 words. I also have some guides and other non-product related pages.

I built around 5 - 10 links per week and no more. I also spread out the frequency of posts, too, adding around 3 - 4 per week and all content is unique.

One thing that may be relevant is your point about the web 2.0s - some of them are weak with only a few posts. I'm going to go through these again and add fresh content.

    Thanks.

Maybe your in same boat as me: Newer site, but started out with too many ads, and affiliate links, which did initially well, then dropped off.

I didn't add any affiliate links and I don't have any ads. I only add Amazon links after the site is established.

GodMode52, the content on my site is 100% unique. Unless of course someone else has written similar wording to me and it looks like spun content. If loads of sites review a handful of products, we are all bound to write similar content.

As mentioned before, I have used the exact same method for other product review sites and they are ranking very highly.

    Just a quick hint:
Unique content cann't lonely protect you from anything.
You can write a literary masterpiece of content about SEO
that the world of literature hasn't seen like that before but
without any success in ranking just because of the competition
    involved in that industry.
