Wondering about my next move

So I started an authority website 2 months ago. After a lot of experience in niche building. But for this website I wrote around (and paid) 400 pages of content. (unique!)

Currently having around 200 visitors a day. But my main problem is that 80% of my pages don't rank. But the tags do rank. The pages that rank, rank good, because I do have a good network of sites already. But only 20%.

I never had this before for this long, normally after 4 weeks (a new website) everything will rank fine.

On-page is fine, and backlinks also. The website already got PR4 from last update, and the inner pages have PR3.

I have to wait longer? Anyone else had this before?

Do you mean rank or indexed? If you have thet many pages in the site then they will not all 'rank good' in 4 weeks. Also what do you mean by rank good? Top 3, top 10, top 100?

I'm a little confused by the question.

Well, its for example like this:

      80%

Keyword#1, tag page is ranked #9, the page itself, ranks 100+ (but indexed and pr3)

      20%

Keyword#2, tag page is ranked #9 and page itself #3.

Normally after one month, everything goes like that 20%, but now its 2 months and still waiting.

Oh, I see. Maybe you could target pages/tag pages with more than one keyword rather than having a page for each. Whilst the single kw target works for small niche sites this might work better for the larger authority site where the bulk of your traffic in time will probably come through the home page on a few keywords and brand terms anyway.

I totally agree with the Nick Taylor because it gave the same answer that i wants to give here. Just do it asap because it will surely work for you to get better results.

I started an authority site in 2010. It did well for a while, but Panda pretty much killed off the Google traffic (it still does very well from Yahoo/Bing).

What I'm doing now is culling all the pages which never got much traffic. Mostly it's because the pages are poor quality, although poor internal linking can be why your good content never gets ranked (hint, hint).

And if a tag page ranks well, make sure you actually write some content for that tag.
