Do you use the Google Affiliate Network?

It was hot news when it first came out, but I haven't seen anything mentioned about it for some time.

I did a search in the whole WF, and nothing relevant came up. The first few results just had the 3 words in ways that weren't related to the network itself.

I went to the GAN help forum, and things seem to be dead there. I did have 2 questions and asked them. I did a search of their forum too and didn't find much there either. One topic had a couple of people complaining of sending a lot of traffic without results.

I've been fiddling with it, and it seems to be clunky compared to gmail, and Google's search. Is it something that is just dying off? Are there complaints (or otherwise) here too?

It does have some good points.

I once viewed GAN, but only to see how it compares with Amazon Affiliate Network. From my point of view, it's just a copycat, trying to bite its competition, but it can't. It is much like Google Wave, which was created in hopes to divert attention from the leading competitors, but it died. Then, we also have Google Circles, which another product trying to kill the big F, L and T in the social arena. Fortunately, it is surviving.

GAN is pretty much dead. It was a good idea, but the Big G have failed miserably with this one.

Just like you don't hear much about CJ, Linkshare and SAS (amongst the larger networks), there is nothing special about GAN.
    It was never big news.

After Google bought DoubleClick they renamed their affiliate network from Performics to GAN. Nothing changed.

If there is a company that you want to be an affiliate for there, you use them. Otherwise, don't.
