I know this question had been asked several times before, But can you please share some search engine position checking tools.
Some which I use are:
  • Rank Checker by SeoBook
  • SpyGlass
  • Mikes Tool, etc
But the rankings vary hugely in all of them..

Thanks
Pragya

I am checking the rankings manually. And if I want to see my rankings in CA when I am in the US, I use VPN proxies. I also use the Rank Tracker application from SEO PowerSuite at Link-Assistant.com for a quick ranking check, though I only trust depersonalized, country-specific manual ranking check.

Its better to check the ranking of the site manually rather than using any of the tools.

Best option (what I use for SEO service): SEO Powersuite Enterprise's Rank Checker.

2nd Best (accurate and faster than above): Brad Callen's SEO Elite tool.

Market Samurai's also got an "improved" rank tracking tool now, but those results aren't too accurate at the moment to be honest.

I was using Seo Power Suite but found it slow for large number of keywords.

I switched to getstat.com It's like Fiat VS Ferrari.

I have used numerous tools and still do to this day for reporting to clients etc however the only real way and easiest way to keep an accurate check is manually. Just make sure you aren't noob enough to not clear your cache everyonce in a while.

You need at least TWO rank checkers to have at least a decent accuracy. You'll never have 100% accuracy, btw.

The most accurate tool for my sites was CuteRank Pro. I have tested about 10 over the years so I have based this on that experience. Others might have other favourites. I had 3 online tools going at one point, a Firefox plugin and CuteRank Pro trying to find the best tool between them, and the most accurate was CuteRank Pro for my sites.

I logged into a UK VPS and used their browser sometimes. I was also flushing my DNS occasionally at home and using the Non Personalized plugin from Yoast to make sure that Google wasn't favouring my sites when I searched from a browser. This gave me a good idea where my sites were for certain keywords, and I compared these positions with the tools I was using. I tested 2 sites and about 10 keywords over a few months just trying to find the best tool, and the one for me personally, is CuteRank Pro. You will have to do your own testing to find a solution that works for you.

SERP checkers have gone the way of the dinosaur. I'm not sure
why any SEO person is even talking about them. Social has
      done in truly "organic" results.

Think about it. Google (and others) take into account your
location, what you have searched for, what pages you
have surfed, what ads you've clicked, ....time of day,
      ....literally everything and anything.

How many people do you think do searches anonymously?
Now compare that to those who don't or can't.

I find myself doing more and more searches from my smartphone.

Google is tailoring almost every search to be more current and
      personalized.

There is a way, but it's like counting fish in a lake. You can't
      count all the fish.

Log into any program that gives an accurate account of what
people are searching for when they get to your site. Assume
that your page showed up on the first page. You can
then get a rough idea of what real words people are searching
for when getting to your site, and how you rank.

The thing is, when doing that, you will see that for the last
100 visitors, maybe 75 had different search phrases.

      Exactly.

Exactly why SERP checkers are for the most part
bogus, and why people screaming how they rank #1 for this
or that are just not looking at the big picture.

      Feel free to bash!

      Paul

Checking Ranking manually is best option get the accurate ranking of your site. You may use all other tools to check the ranking but wont give the accurate ranking which manual ranking checking gives. Its up to you how do you want to check.

I use the one in my signature, since I wrote it. It is completely free and will graph the last 30 days so you can spot trends. It also tracks best, last, and allows you to choose from 50+ google regions. It is an on-demand checker, but it is automated so you can check 20 keywords at the click of a button and see the detailed results. You can even highlight up to 3 competing domains. It will also do a little on-page SEO check for you.

For those checking manually, ouch. For 5-10 keywords that may be fine, but 20, 50, 100+ manually and recording the results too? Automated tools are the way to go. Again, check my signature for a great free site.

I recently came across Rank Checker Ace, its free and to be honest, its by far the most accurate one out of the all trackers I have used (Both free and paid ones).

The good thing is its on online tool, so you dont have to install anything on your computer. The only down side is that you have to enter keywords one by one manually, there is no way to mass import them.

    Hi,

My personal suggestion, You should find keyword ranking manually.

Many reasons like that's tools send an automatic query to Google about your website . It's not right.

You should check page rank and Indexing by Google Toolbar.
