Ranking Facebook Pages in Google

I'm going to test ranking a facebook page for a services related term with 2400 global, 1300 local, exact match searches.

Facebook page url is facebook.com/topkeyword.

Until it ranks, I won't be linking to our services site directly, but may send them to landing page w/contact form.

I'd love to hear if anyone has had success with blasting facebook pages to position 1 in google.

I'm tempted to push the limits from the beginning, but may ease into it gradually.

I would be interested to see your results.

I am a web designer and I've seen many times our clients will have facebook pages that rank on the first page under their sites when searching their name, business, etc.

What type of link building will you be doing? Or just "on-page" (if you can call it that), for the facebook page?

Why would I do this? Really?

Because I'm interested in Piggy-backing on that domain.

I have seen a lot of facebook pages are ranking in no.1 place of google result for different search terms. Though I do not really know much about doing SEO for a facebook page but please keep us updated about your progress.

Its a valid proposition. Though you see much less of Facebook when searching for generic terms unless its peoples fan pages. You can certainly use the authority of the domain, but often directing your main site back to facebook is a great way to grow the page.

Remember its not everyone who uses facebook - so more generic types of products - teeth whitening, dating etc would be prime candidates for testing this out!

Actually I've been ranking a lot of youtube videos lately because I've found it's easier to rank and takes less work.

May not convert as well but since it's so much easier it allows me to get a lot more things ranked at once so in the long run it produces more $$$

I don't know what search phrases you folks search for but I rarely see FB pages ranked in G SERPs.

Not saying it can't be done, just saying If the FB pages ranked so easily, you would see a lot more FB pages in the SERPs. Youtube videos are ok If your monetizing with Adsense (Adsense in the video) & YT videos do rank easily most times, but I would rather have traffic on my own site/page If I'm going through the trouble of building links.

Yeah but the cool thing about Youtube is you get traffic from two search engines instead of just one

      Excluding everything that isn't Google/Youtube

So now it's two major sources of traffic I use it for affiliate offers though not Adsense. That stuff pays pennies

Lol, pennies add up, my bro. hits $1,000+ (monthly) consistently over the last few months. Not bad for basically on page SEO directly on YT, no external links or SEO outside of YT. All part time.

Other than creating the videos & few min. with on-page SEO, it's auto-pilot money.

It's not big money, but it's close to free money.

No trust me I've seen the threads about your brother, your feedburner posts and countless other Adsense threads by you

It is a great route if you've got the discipline and tons of content. The whole authority or large scale model works excellent with Adsense and Amazon

          I just prefer Amazon
