Does Traffic Exchange Help Seo?

Okay so I'm about to work on a new project to get a affiliate link to the top of Google for trending keywords. I was designing my game plan for it and I was wondering if sending traffic from Traffic Exchange sites to the splash page help SEO. I have read a some articles on it and they all have mixed opinions on it. One said that I would help your placement in Google and the other said search engines will pick up on it fast and block it. To me it would make sense to be in your favor but it is incentive traffic so I'm not 100% sure.
