    Blogs don't have PR, pages do. The PageRank of the page where your comment will appear is unrelated to the PR of the homepage of the domain, whether it's "high" or not. You'll also be getting a fractional percentage of the near-zero PR that page has because there'll likely be over 100 other links on the page when you consider the navigation, the article, and all the other comments.

    If you're going around the web placing your own links to your site one-by-one hoping this will build a business you can retire on, you're going about everything wrong. One meaningful contribution to your target market -- a truly useful blog post, software tool, infographic, interview, whatever -- will get you more backlinks (in both quantity and quality) than you could ever create for yourself.

    Give people in your niche a reason to talk about (and link to) you. It's a lot harder than posting one-liners in blog comments, but the ROI is much, much higher.

    Tommy, a few little points might help you, in this context ...

    (i) Blogs are websites, and websites don't "have PR": only pages have page ranks. When you see people referring to the "PR of a site" that's often a pretty good sign that they haven't quite thought it through, and are assuming that the page rank of a site's own home page is going to determine the linkjuice value of their backlink from that site (mistaken, of course - this is the same logic that makes people imagine a backlink from TypePad is a good thing to have "because TypePad is a PR-8 site" - as the owner of a large number of backlinks from TypePad, I can assure you it's utter nonsense!);

    (ii) Page ranks (even of pages) have a lot less to do with linkjuice value than site-relevance (which is of course exactly why article syndication backlinks are so hugely valuable, as explained in many threads like this one: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5035794 );

    (iii) "No-follow"/"do-follow" has almost nothing to do with whether or not you should seek a blog comment on any given site, for five or six different reasons (explained in all the threads like this one: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...ml#post6694330 ).

    Please appreciate I intend all the above only helpfully, not as a crticism.

    But if you're instinctively thinking of "blog posting" as "something you should do only on high-PR blogs with DoFollow links", then you've really been terribly badly advised!

      One of the problems with fixating on PR is that it isn't permanent. Unless you have access to the actual Google data stream, it likely isn't accurate, either.

    Scrapebox.

    1. Harvest using blog platform footprint.

    2. Check PR of results.

    Challenge won.

    OK. Scrapebox is $57. But, well, it's peanuts considering what it can do.

      There's no doubt Scrapebox is best, but the challenge is for "free"...So let's do it this way:

      Download the freeware Google URL Scraper here - This tool will scrape Google for given keywords and return a list of URLs you can save to a text file.

      Text Mechanic - remove lines of text containing - Use this online tool to help you filter and clean your list of URLs scraped from Google before checking the PageRank.

      Online Bulk PageRank Checkers
      http://www.smallseotools.com/google-pagerank-checker/
      http://www.multilinkr.com/
      http://pagerank.my-addr.com/

      The key here is to use the best possible search query in Google URL Scraper. Something like:

      "dog training" + "powered by wordpress" + "1...49 comments" -"comments closed"

      I'm doing this off the top of my head, so not sure if "1...49 comments" is the correct footprint.

      The "1...49 comments" footprint is used to limit the results to only WP blog pages that have between 1 and 49 comments. The numbers can be adjusted as needed.

      The -"comments closed" footprint is to eliminate WP blog pages that have closed comments.

      You will probably have to tweak my custom query, as I may have an error or two.

      Once you have your list of pages, filtered them and got their PR, convert them to clickable links, using this tool:
      Convert URL to Hyperlink

      Use the "Selection Links" plugin for the FireFox browser to open about a dozen URLs at a time.

      Optional: You can also use the "NoDoFollow" Firefox plugin to check if comments give a nofollow link or not.

      Check for good blog posts and add USEFUL comments where appropriate.

        Alright, fair enough.

        If you want a shortcut, though, just add "this site uses keywordluv" into your footprint / query.

        The only issue with KWLuv blogs is that many of them have no PR. So it's still a little tough finding the ones that are worthwhile.

      I would have to agree. It isn't free to start out, but for the amount of time saved just in finding relevant blogs to post comments on...it's like getting paid to use the software.

    You could manually achieve this by installing a plugin on chrome or Firefox that flashes up with a page you are ons pr rank, then in google search through sites typing different queries to get a niche specific site

      I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!
