    The Blogspot sub-domain article they supposedly read has the same name as the Warrior Forum profile name.

    So OP read his own article & what OP wrote in his article helped him a lot.

    On a "slightly different note", I heard that there are other "adsense-like" networks out there that pay higher payouts per click than adsense.

    Is anyone familiar with this concept and if so, which ones do you recommend?

      May be adbrite and bidvertiser can give you some good results as adsense alternative.

    CPC depends on the keyword you are targeting. If your site is displaying non-relative ads then also your cpc will be low.

    As your link is deleted so I can no say more.
