Link Pyramid Best Practices Anyone?

Basically this is the strategy plain and simple.....

Tier 3 link> Tier 2 link> Web 2.0 property (ezinearticles, etc.)> Squeeze Page> autoresponder> $$$

I use optimize press for website management and creating content/pages etc. You can create squeeze pages within optimize press as well. I am wanting to use the above link pyramid method to drive traffic to my squeeze pages which are based within the web 2.0 portals stated above, and keep the links away from my main money site so the Gestapo...oops I mean google police won't ever find my black hat'esque links and penalize my money site. I am not sure whether or not to use a different domain name for the squeeze page or to use my squeeze page domain name as the link, considering that the squeeze page with my domain name within it would just merely be an attachment directly to my money site.

EX: (another-related-name-for-my-site) as my squeeze page or

(mysite/squeeze-page) as my squeeze page

    Im new to this but I thought google didnt like that kind of stuff ... or does it still work ?

      Well....I hear of people using this tactic all of the time and still succeeding with it. I'm just trying to figure out the best method of protection until google does ever find out, well if they actually do ever find out. It's main purpose is list building.
