If your looking for exact domain matches, what would people type more?
Travel To NewYork or NewYork Travel would be my guess.

Alot of times the plural version outranking singular words, but in this case Im willing to bet Travel wins.

Compare the two on google adwords tool.

I go for travel, no one searching for travels to the United State and no one also searching for travels agency

    For me I vote travel

In my opinion, I vote for travels because travel is higher competition than travels. So SEO for travels will be easier.

There are so many cities in US, what is the point of buying so many domains? Do you plan to develop them or you are just going to sit on them?

I would load up the Google Keyword Tool and see which one gets the most searches. Make sure to select [Exact] so you dont get a jumbled mess of partial matches to skew the results.

"New York travels" would get less searches per month is my guess, so you could argue could rank higher due to less competition. But "New York travel" I see as a more accurate search term for your niche so I would go with that. If worked with correctly this term will be more beneficial in the long term.

Thanks for all your opinion guys. May be I should be more specific on my information. The domains I intend to buy are top destinations cities level travel information in my country, not US. They don't get certain exact match or i'm building these sites for adsense. The sites will be providing travel information on the particular city. I'm going to use these sites for backlinks to my main site in the future.

    Best regards
    Sai

In my opinion, "travel" is more suitable for your niche search term, because
people usually search travel rather than travels. But, to make sure which one
that gets the most searches (either travel or travels), I think I agree with
ArcherWylde, you may try to check it first with the Google Keyword Tool.
