Hi,

I am unable to set-up gmail accounts anymore, therefor I cannot create blogger web2.0s. Every time I try to create one, I am asked to provide a tel no. to get a verification code sent to me. I use a vpn service to mask my IP and I have attempted this on a number of ip addresses but to no avail. Anyone out there got any ideas?

Cheers,
Seamy

    1. Clear your browser history, cookies, caches and then flush your DNS. Reconnect your Internet service to get a new dynamic IP.

    2. Go to https://plus.google.com/ (NOT mail.google.com) and then create G+ account, it'll give you gmail account too. (It works for 2-3 signups but if you'll go beyond that then it will also start asking for phone verification.....Well, if it does...do the step 1 again after some time.)

    3. Still can't get over it? Use Yahoo Mail.

A good question asked and the answer by @oranges can be very effective. Using yahoomail and hotmail cannot help to create a blogger blog.

My IP address is masked and I've already cleared my browser cache. I think Google is asking everyone in the UK at the moment.

With a phone number, you just can create about 10 gmail accounts. After you need use another number.
Another way, did you try to create with e (internet explorer), some time I use e to create email and it didn't ask phone number.

Assuming everyone has access to a phone is a bit of a bold approach by Google. It is almost like they know that people need a gmail account to use various google features and that they will put up with the extra hassle to get it. Not happy.
