Hey guys Becker here...I wrote this the other day and felt it would be a good share. As you may or may not know, Google is preparing to roll out yet another round of Penguing updates.

I have researched it a ton and have found some pretty disturbing stuff

As a SEO it now non-optional to just assume anymore

I am glad I have been digging into this

Because it looks like another storm is coming very soon,

So I wanted to give you a quick run down of what I have been researching in this short post

Signs Of The Apocalypse

Okay...Apocalypse might be a bit exaggerated.

But things are definitely about to change again and more than likely throw another bunch of SEO's under a bus.

One thing you need to keep in mind is that Penguin was not just a one time thing. Google is actually planning on rolling out new updates almost monthly.

Updates that Matt Cutt's (head of Google webspam) foretold would be ""jarring and jolting" for webmasters.

The Days Of Lazy SEO Might Be Behind Us

The latest penguin roll outs have not hit yet. But if you look at what Google has been up to, it is very apparent what direction they are favored in heading.

If you look at current signs and trends, you can safely assume that Google is

A) Heavily trying to discourage SEO

B) Using randomness in results as a weapon against SEOs

C) Leaning towards ranking brands and its own properties (Youtube etc)

D) Making organic traffic more scarce

Lets dive down into the signs

Google Pushing For "Faking" Search Results

So lets think for a sec...How do SEO's figure out how to crack the search engine code and pillage its booty?

Simple, they try multiple SEO approaches and watch what happens. They then analyze the approach with the best results and repeat , repeat, repeat.

What if Google simply took "consistency" out of the equation. If Google rewarded or penalized SEOed sites at random there would be no way to tell what truly increases rank.

That would be pretty scary!

Well that is exactly what Google is aiming to do by updating its Spammers Patent . Whether this is good or bad, it does mean one thing. Google wants to make its search engine unpredictable so you can't hone it on its "booty" quite so easily

Reducing The Amount Of First Page Results

What would be a great way to make businesses spend more money and make it hard for SEOs to get traffic? Hmmmm...

Maybe reducing the amount of results for a search?

Google is already way ahead of us. There has been a dramatic increase in search results showing only 7 results instead of the usual 10.

By making the first page show less results Google has

A) Made sure that less sites show up to compete with its ads

B) Made it that much hard to get on the first page

C) Easier to coat the page with its properties (youtube, etc)

Long story short, Google is not aiming to make search results any friendlier

They Are Letting You Know It's Gonna Be Bad

Now I will be the first person to tell you 90% of what Google says about search results is bullshit. They simply want to create a penguin panic.

However, looking at all the changes being made, Google is trying to make a point. On top of this they have stated that the impacts of updates are going to be felt by SEOs and webmasters.

Just Thought I'd Let You Know

With all that being said it is very clear that the Penguin is not done quit yet! I wanted to take a chance to write out this short post so that you can stay on the forefront and be ready with me.

I have also included a a lot more about the stance Google is taking on SEO here
