Direct Linking PPC Help Please!

Hi,

I hope someone can help me out here please as I'm stuck.

I'm trying to send direct linking Google PPC traffic to my clickbank URL for an affiliate product but am having all sorts of problems with what to put in the display URL field.

Originally I just tried putting the URL of the merchant's website but Google was disapproving that from within my Adwords account. This is the reason
"Copyrighted Content Without Permission
At this time, Google policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that promote copyrighted Content Without Permission. As noted in our advertising terms and conditions, we reserve the right to exercise editorial discretion when it comes to the advertising that we accept on our site."

I don't understand this and have never come across it before. I know that lots of other affiliates promote this product (because it's very well ranked in the Clickbank Marketplace) and I know that several people do so with direct linking because I've seen their ads.

So I tried registering a domain of my own and used a redirect with masking. So when you type my URL into the browser it takes you to the merchant's site but my URL is what shows in the browser address bar. But Google have disapproved this saying it's an inaccurate display URL. Here's what they say -

"Your Display URL must accurately reflect the
URL of your website; it must be a viable web address that is part of
your ad's destination domain and include the domain extension (such
as .com, .net or .org). The domain extensions must match. For
example, google.com is not the same as google.co.uk. Ads
with Display URLs that redirect to a different Destination URL are not
permitted."

I just don't know how to overcome this problem. I know I could make up a site of my own to put on my domain and send people on from there but that defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to do - I want to use direct linking.

Anybody run up against this problem before? Anybody got any thoughts as to how I can overcome it? All suggestions gratefully received...

Thanks,
Andrew

From what I've heard google doesn't allow you to do direct linking with PPC. But you can do it with MSN, they do allow you to direct link.

I have found it much easier to use Yahoo Search Marketing when doing a direct linking campaign instead of trying to get through all of the restrictions Adwords has for direct linking.

Google does allow direct linking. Watch this video. http://services.google.com/awp/en_us...316/index.html

But there are limitations especially the one display URL rule which only displays one display URL at a time. So if 10 guys direct link and all use the same display URL, and bid on the same keyword, only one of those 10 ads gets shown at a time.

You need to set up the same display url with the one that visitor lands on.

In search there can be only one domain per a particular search .. so .. whoever bids the highest will get to direct link. In content network there can be more people promoting the same url, however it will assign you a low quality score obviously.

In my experience the best way is to create a landing page. It will increase your conversions and it's really easy to do. Just provide quality information on your landing page, links to authority websites, have privacy policy, contact us page , terms & conditions and .. must have a strong call to action
