Link Farms - A Bad Way To Increase Backlinks

Since joining this forum I've seen a lot of 'new to SEO' people being told to use link farms.

This is a very bad idea.

Why? Google really does hates link farms and their algorithms consider the links they generate as spam. Some sites get removed from the Google index just for being affiliated.

You should consider this practice as Anti-SEO from lazy people who haven not taken the time to fully learn and understand the industry they claim to be part of.

It is a form of artificial linkage - not organic.

Instead try staying within your topic/niche/theme; if you run a site about cars stay with all things car related - driving wheels, gear boxes, caps etc

Link farms, besides being spam, are diluting the overall relevance of your site.

Oh and never use automated link programs, these will not help your site become the authority you desire (all sites should aim to become an authority, including yours).

  • I agree 100%. You NEVER want to use ANY auto submission to get ranked on Google, such as a classified ad submitter or Google will ban your article content, this is what's called the sand box or "black hat".

Agreed using link farms is a good way to get your site desisted.

I agree that this the worse way to get your backlinks. There are some easy ways to get your backlinks and not have this link farms. This is ancient type of backlinking.
