List of Adsense Alternatives

Unfortunately, one of my clients received the nice email from Google yesterday telling him his account had been shut down (1 day before he was to receive $1,900...just slightly shady on Google's part).

In doing some research for him about his alternatives, I came upon the following list of adsense alternatives. Maybe it will be helpful for someone else out there who is in the same terrible situation as him!

AllFeeds (http://www.allfeeds.com/?action=publishers)
AllFeeds has a great pool of online advertisers to choose from. It also features many display formats that you can choose from. These include banners, buttons, XML feeds, DHTML pop-ups and so on. It also features real time reporting of your ad status. The site will mail a check every month, provided that you earn more then $25.00, while rolling over earnings for the next month if you don't. Another interesting thing about AllFeeds is that it integrates with Google AdSense, maximizing your earnings with AdSense.

MarketBanker (http://www.marketbanker.com/mb/sell.php)
MarketBanker allows you the unique possiblity to set the pricing for your site. It also allows you to allow or reject any link that appears on your site (although AdSense itself does a very good job of this as well, with URL filters) There's also a statistics section which will allow you to see how well your site is doing. The ads are small just like AdSense's and they're just as easy to set up. Also, registration for MarketBanker is free.

BidClix ( http://www.bidclix.com/PubTop.html)
BidClix is different because it has advertisers compete for clicks on your site, which in turn is meant to generate the highest possible profits for your page. It also has a very large pool of advertisers which ensure there are plenty of people to choose your site. However, it does require more polish on site contents then AdSense. As most sites, real time statistics are available and its very easy to get started with this service, but it's also very flexible.

Chitika (realcontext.com - realcontext Resources and Information.)
RealContext uses Artificial intelligence to retrieve the most relevant ads for your page. And there's an extra feature which makes RealContext unique as well. Keywords are selected based upon which previous selections payed off and which didn't. That means there's a constant feedback process that ensures you gain better revenue from your ads. It also supports blocking certain adds and child-safe filtering and many more options.

AdHearus (Durch gezielte Informationen aus dem Internet lernen)
AdHearus is a very feature-packed contextual ad provider. As with AdSense, advertisements are targeted but it doesn't stop here at all. The ads are very flexible, you can select from text-ads, banners, rectangles, pop-ups, pop-unders or skyscrapers. You can also display your own ads, through rotation, both on your site and on other affiliate sites, which makes AdHearus a hybrid with conventional advertising technologies. There's a very comprehensive on-line real time reporting feature and, as usual with such services, starting out is free and it's a breeze.

AffiliateSensor (Affiliatesensor.com)
AffiliateSensor has highly customizable ad blocks, which you can make for yourself with an easy to use on-line interface. You also get realtime reporting with clicks-by-domain, page and refferer. There's integration with Google AdSense as well, through the google_alternate_ad_url so AffiliateSensor can be used as a substitute for Google PSA's (Public Service Ads).

Kanoodle Bright Ads (Kanoodle - Providing Search-Targeted Sponsored Links Since 1999)
Kanoodle's offering allows publishers to get ads related to topics or segments, and not the traditional keyword oriented ads. The site also groups publisher sites with advertisers by hand to ensure high-revenue generating ads. And speaking of revenue, the amount of money you receive is a clear 50% share of the amount of money Kanoodle recieves for an advertiser.

TargetPoint (http://publisher.targetpoint.com)
TargetPoint is oriented more towards content publishers. It offers full control over the look the ads, statistics over your site's overall performance and better revenue. It's free to register and you earn a guaranteed 60% of the total revenue. You can get paid with Paypal of Bank checks and (most times) wire transfers as well.

Clicksor (Online Contextual Advertising and Behavioral Marketing Company)
Clicksor will earn you as much as 60% from the amount of money your website produces. What you get is about the same as AdSense, there are targeted text ads, you can view the revenues from your website in real time. You can receive money via PayPal or through a check every two weeks, provided that you have earned more then $50. If you haven't made that much, your earning roll over to the next period

Yeah, "someone" always "chimes in" about infolinks...strange...

The OP is a tad bit off. Okay, waaaaaaaaaaay off.

The real list of adsense alternatives would be empty.

      There are none.

Although there may not be an alternative in some peoples mind, the fact is that more and more Google is closing down adsense accounts to many of the sites that would be found here on WF.
Most of the sites on here do not offer a unique product or service and are being targeted as ways for google to shave some money from their expenses.
A website offering similar services may fall short as they do not have the billions of dollars behind them but they can compete on transparency and percentage of cost per click.
I highly recommend trying a few options if you are ever in the position where you have a website and no revenue because google has dumped you!

ROTFLMAO!!! So you prove what I've been saying for years. The people
on the WF are just not reading stuff from google or are ignoring it.

There are adsense alternatives, but they only exist in people's minds.

The viable ones, and I use that term loosely, will have the same TOS
as google. They have to. So, you would get banned again. The ones
that are not viable, will never pay shinola anyway.

I have a google account in great standing and although I have NEVER had problems, I do have an issue with google disallowing an account due to spammy content, I fully support illegal clicks and such as reasons for removal, but if someone legitimately clicks on an ad on a warez, viagra, or an affiliate site, how is that any less legit than the click on say usa todays site?
I for one would like to know if the $$$ not paid to adsense accounts when closed actually get refunded to the adwords accounts of the ads they showed... I would guess NOT!

The money gets refunded. I have an Adwords account and I often see money credited back to my account from clicks that were discredited.

I totally agree with Yukon. And I would think most users would fell the same way too.

As far as alternatives, the only one that I have used and am still using (along side adsense) that comes close to adsense is Media.net, and I think its because of the way their ads are displayed.

I did publish a list of about 200 adsense alternatives here, but again, as far as earnings goes, your best bet would be Media.net based on my experience.

Just curious - I'm doing research right now on adsense alternatives (got banned today ..mysteriously .. :/) .. I have noticed a lot of mention about adbrite and it seems to be one of the more popular adsense alternatives. I'm just curious since you didn't mention it - did you not come across it? Or did you come across it and dismiss it for some reasons?

By the way I'm surprised I'm the first one to thank you on the post because it is a really really helpful post you listed there. Thanks so much again!

I'd like to say thanks for this information but I just believe on Adsense because it is best and you can rely on it. Furthermore, I also use couple of these ad services which are listed above but I am not satisfied with these services.

With that list that's what you'll end up with, nothing (that doesn't sound better to me).

If someone is banned from Adsense, they're done, move on...

I know for a fact that Chitika blows (I'm serious). I've ran Chitaka for a month with my Adsense traffic. I can make more in a single Adsense click than what Chitika pays out in a week.

Create your own product or find something else that actually earns money.

Maybe he isn't being clear enough.. but he is correct, there is no PPC service like or comes close to Adsense. You see people on here complain when they get a bad few Adsense clicks.. now imagine every click even worse and that's the best PPC service after Adsense.

14 cents per click isn't an income even when times 1000.

While I am very glad I did not get banned from Adsense because I still see it very useful as I build a website but once you get traffic up to a certain point there are much better ways to earn money and create a fairly stable income from it as well. Adsense can be so hit and miss depending on clicks, how much a click will pay and such. The key is having the traffic to do so though.

My adsense account also got banned about 3 weeks ago with 2900 Euros inside! It was an easy money! Adsense is not a business you can rely. I have been in this bsuiness since 2003 when I was banking $1000/day just from one site. Those days have gone and Google has become very picky. They are after the big guys the same they did in their adwords platform, cutting the low-budget advertisers off their network and now I think that it is coming to the adsense publishers.

Instead of using second tier PPC services, in my opinion it's much better to start focusing on CPA/affiliate sales. You'll soon find out how much money you left on the table with using Adsense. It's completely changed my point of view anyways.
