One of my new site with an age less than one year, three months ago had unique visitors around 800 IPs every day, but currently the traffic fell to around 100 IPs. I don't know why. Has this site been put into Google sandbox?
Anyone can explain Google sandbox or how to escape from it?

A lot of backlinks to the site have became invalid during the recent months, as they became nofollow, does this matter?
Should I keep building backlinks each day? I usually submitted 80 bookmarks to different bookmarking sites each day and posted comments on some dofollow blogs.
How many backlinks should I build for a single site each day?

Be careful of posting too many links per day, if you do, be sure not to ping/index them all at once.

As for your question, yes, keep building backlinks. But always make sure they come from relevant sites, are mostly dofollow and high PR. Diversification is always a must though, this includes link types, dofollow/nofollow and anchor text.

I love when I see people coming and give advices from what they read at some so called SEO GURU.

You can build as many as you want important is to maintain a constant velocity... No matter you have high or low quality backlinks the velocity is very important.

The second thing you must do is to make things look as natural as possible, and here I'm talking about anchor text diversity... Build like 30% of your backlinks using your main kw and the rest with secondary long tail kw that have your main kw in them.. Like "dog training" and "dog training for big dogs in LA".

In your place I will start to build more and more backlinks every day.

About sandbox... sandbox is not a penalty is a maturation tool and if you keep what are you doing and add some quality and consistency then you will your website up again.

What you must do is keep track of your kw and the kw and position for what you are ranking.. by doing that you can see where this traffic drop.. I say that because you talk about traffic drop and not ranking drop...

Here is a great cracked tool to use to keep track of your kw and ranking:
