Hey Everyone,

I have a couple of questions in regards to ranking on google and I thought who better to ask then some of the experts in WF.
So here we go:

1) How long does it take before google picks up on any SEO changes that I have made on my website? In terms of ranking.

2) Can a new website (under 3 months) rank well on google or does it take a website that is a year or more?

Thanks and look forward to hearing from you all!!

Well, I'm no expert but with the right software you can see when the spiders come by and I've seen 24 to 48 with 20 to 30% changes to content.

I'm using YT vids to get juice and it works well if you also make a Blogger and tie it to the video and then to your money site with the video

    hope it helps

I'm not an expert but I'd say that you shouldn't be worrying about your SEO as much as you might think you should. Create content for your audience and leverage social media to gain traffic and subscribers.
Even if you rank #1 on G/Y/B, I'd wager that (1) the traffic you get would be poor quality {no buyers} and (2) wouldn't bring much traffic in anyway. I'm not saying ignore SEO altogether, but I'm saying that you should place more emphasis on other things like great content and a personal touch...rather than keyword density, meta tags, and stuff like that.

      Thanks man,

I do totally agree with you and I am working on that for sure. I am not waiting around to make sure I have great ranking before getting great content ... My number 1 strategy is Content is King.

      Thanks for the feedback

+1 to this. Building a list that you can engage and send back to your site is great as-well. Depending on how big of an authority Google thinks you are in your niche they can even crawl your content and rank you in a matter of minutes(know from experience). Also a website can definitely start ranking in 3 months. That is usually the time frame in which you start getting traction in the SERPs, but again it depends on how much content you release per day and how optimized your 'on' and 'off' page is. Things like auto-pinging recent content helps spiders stick around. Just my 2cents

I had been doing SEO for months but left it months ago lol.

I have seen sites ranking in under an hour - 24 hours so it basically means what kind of an effort you put into it... there was a site which could index your site in as little as 10 minutes.

It will never take a new website an Year to rank if you aren't going for 'lose weight' kinda keywords. My maximum time frame is 3 - 17 - 30 days.

    Hi,

for (1), Google takes a few days to weeks to index a new change.

for (2), a new website would be able to rank well in short time. it depends on how you do your optimization.

my website "financial help for single mother in Canada" ranks on first page of Google after 4 weeks. I choose low competition and long tailed keywords.

you can refer to some examples at my signature below.

and also make sure your on-page and off-page are working together, not against each other...

    1. It depends on how often Google crawls your website and that usually depends on how often you usually generate new content.
    2. Yes, it is possible to rank fast for a new website, depending on it's optimization and, more importantly, how competitive your niche is. I've had a brand new website on a new domain ranking 2nd on Google within 2 weeks.
