How Many Pages Do I Need | Do I Target the Same Keyword?

Hey Warriors,
I posted a similar thread a few days ago, however I accidentally posted it in the IM Section, and it got deleted. Anyhow I have a few questions. I am building an AdSense (And Will soon Be Amazon as well) niche 'authority' site, and have been taking action. I've been doing SEO every day, for each new page I add, and have added my RSS feed to all 3 submitters, following a WSO. Now, I currently have 4 Pages + my Home page. Home page is 1,000 words, and other pages are 800-1000. I have targeted the main keyword I want (all the related keywords, are very low search volume of around 100 - 200) in all my Backlinking as my main keyword, and in my SEOPressor Keyword Density for my articles, however I am adding my other keywords in the different articles as well.

Now my main two questions:

1) Am I doing this right? As far as this WSO ('Penguin Ready it is supposed to be') says, I am, however I need to do press releases and link wheels as well.
2) How many more pages must I make? Also, I am using CTR Theme (No Pushdown ads, and ads are not active right now), and am Not sure how I should be doing navigation. Right now I am just putting all posts on the left bar and that is all.

One more question if you guys don't mind:

3) My Main keyword is receiving around 40,000 US Exact Searches Monthly. I thought it would probably be quite competitive, however I used SEOQuake, and they told me that almost all first page websites will be easy to overcome (usually under 10 back links, low PR of 0-2, and some have only one or two pages indexed), however a few of the top sites are authorities. For example, the number one site right now is an Amazon Product, a Youtube video used to be number one, and a Squidoo lens is up there as well.

Sorry if these are stupid questions, I'm very new to the SEO / Niche scene

Thanks,
Dylan

If you going for a huge authority site then I would recommend you start getting a lot more content done. Google likes sites that are constantly getting updated. 1-5 released a day. 3 articles a week minimum. More is better. Curate the content if you have to. Also make sure you are inter-linking throughout your site to spread PR

You can add as many pages as you'd like based on the same keyword. If you do a good job at it, you will have multiple rankings on the first page.
