Rankings going down after manual linkbuilding

Hi,

after those great updates by Google I thought doing automatic
linkbuilding is not the right path to go.

I am just doing manual backlinking now and see a weird
development:

My rankings go down! What I do?

Mostly highly spun and readable articles with a uniqueness rate
of around 80-90%. Then building article backlinks and web 2.0 backlinks
as well as SB backlinks and finally building a good amount of
wiki backlinks on them to make them stronger.

Yes, I have varied the anchor text a lot.

What do you think?

Wait two weeks and see what gonna happen. In the meantime try different link building strategy.

Only this way you'll gain some experience. Don't stop. Don't fall in love with one site.

    Could be Google dance bro.

Crazy story: I remember I modified a link in my "widget" category and backlinked one of my blogs. (The site in particular had like 20,000 indexed pages)

    Ready for the crazy part?

The Pagerank jumped from like 2 to 6 because of the CRAZY increase of links.

    Guess what?

A few days later, it self corrected.

I say wait a few days and see what happens...

Weak backlinks will not help, especially now with all the Google changes. You may call it manual, but if you're posting thin content on web 2.0 and article directories and then blasting thousands of blogs with irrelevant comments, do you really think your site should be up in the SERPS?

Manual, automatic, you're doing black hat.

Could be Google dance, depending on the amount of links you built.

Are you pinging your backlinks? If so, don't ping them all at once. Drip feed half of them over a certain time period (depending on amount) and leave the other to be found naturally.

Make sure you are not going crazy with exact match anchor text. Even if you diversify, it still looks unnatural if 80% of your links are keywords. Also, spun content is quickly identified by G these days so those links probably got discredited during this last Panda update.

Just because you're building links manually doesn't mean Google likes them. Its just as easy to get penalized from building links manually as it is from automated. If you do automated right you'll be fine and if you do manual wrong you'll be penalized.

    1. Web2.0 links with spun content used to work in 2011. If you want to get results using web2.0 then use good content and not spun content.
    2. Wiki links are of no use. They are already spammed to death. 1 article spinned and submitted to 1000-2000 sites will not yield any results.

The main reason of a website rank going down after using link building technique is that :-

    1. Un-relevant link for website
    2. Copy content of article submission
    3. Website pr is 0.
    4. More back-link which is not relevant to your website.

It's just a patent. How do you know it's even part of their current systems ? How do you know they haven't already implemented it ..months or years ago and are just now filing.

The OPs problem is that he thinks doing it "manual" is somehow better than doing it "automated". It's the same junk link, not to even consider that he was spinning. Same link = Same results.

I know it's part of their current system as I do SEO for 100+ sites a month and for some we see results within 3-4 days while for others it takes 6 weeks to see the first results, with the exact same type of links/package, and I've talked with plenty of people about that when it took so long and every time they didn't build links or made changes in the meanwhile.

I do know they implemented it earlier cause we've seen the same pattern about 3-4 months ago so yes Google is using it before it was made official. I always said: "Google build in some randomness", then they announced that the patent came and all puzzles pieces fell in the right places.

I think OP's problem ís the mass tier 2 spamming with wiki's and scrapebox. A year ago I already noticed that hardly works after doing some testing, that's why I never went with that hype.

Well from what I know about programming and such, there’s going to be some average, or percentage of changes that will trigger the over optimization signal.
What he hasn't figured out is, Google keeps track of old SERP results, combine that fact (yes it's a fact) with Google Freshness, well, the smart guys can figure out the rest of the recipe.

I've been dropping hints about this (old SERPs + Freshness) for a few months on this forum & I don't think anyone's picked up on it. Notice that text between my forum name & forum avatar, it's been there for a while.

Yuk, I picked Your hints about month ago. But I think I`m doing something wrong

I got 700 pages silo site, and on every page I have 3 reviews randomly showing on every page load (about 180 combinations). Is it enough to make G robots think I add fresh content ?

Or should I change them not on every page load but for example once in 2,3 days ?

And should I add date of change (later that date goes to serps results) when changes are made ?

      Thanks

Hello Seoed, for getting good results manual submission is the best way, so don't bother about it. Now you have to concentrate on quality work. Below is some guidelines which you can adopt to get good results:
    1) First start onpage optimization, content optimization these two things help your site to stay on search engine for long time.
    2) Classified, Press Release also help to improve SERP for your keywords. So do this things in your seo activity.
    3) Blog commenting on relevant blogs also give you tremendous results.
    4) Facebook page creation also boost your keywords.
    5) Business directory submission provide stability to your keywords.
    6) Competitor follow is also essential.
These all things will give better results as compare to activities you perform. So try these all things and get better and stable results.
    Best of Luck

If your site is new or you haven't done SEO in a while and have started doing it now, then it could be google dance. Some of my newer sites are experiencing the same phenomenon. One day I check they are at #227, next day at #63, then the next day, #198.... Arrrrghhhh!

I hope you got my point here!

some members here say that I have built so many links to my site.

Those mass backlinks are built on the main backlinks, not on my site!
Moreover, they have related content in them which point to those
    main backlinks.

Additionally: I can tell you that a well-known seo guy here on WF changed
his strategy to what I am doing right now, too!

Are you sure that my strategy is "black hat" only because I back-up my
    backlinks?
