my blog idea

actually have an idea of a blog I want to create, however, there is no real nich other than I enjoy writing my own articles. I have reports, essays and other writings saved from college. I want to write about everything. I like to have control over content, so I'm not sure WordPress is good for me. I think I would outsource and hire someone to design the template and install a custom blog software with a non generic look. I then want to be able to add the social networking option to allow users to comment on articles. I would use adsense and maybe after when I get a large amount of traffic, review a product or two.

I would pay for SEO, as my domain name has weak results in google and a high search rating. My question is, is this okay to do? Do i need a specific topic niche or can i do every topic i want to write about?

I enjoy politics, I'm conservative and I'm sure i can discuss issues that matter to like minded people.

    You can do whatever you want! It's your website/blog. WordPress is the most popular platform for blogging, second will be blogger. It' is recommended to have one niche, but it's all up to the accomplishments you are trying to achieve. Remember that you don't always have to pay for something as things can be learned if you actually put your time into researching it.
