twitter and bit.ly links? link juice?

Do you get any link juice from the bit.ly links you can post?
Twitter is a bit stupid as it looks dumb having loads of bit.ly links everywhere that could redirect anywhere...

    Bit.ly links are 301 redirects so link juice is transfered. Twitter on the other hand has nofollow links, so it doesn't help with SEO directly. It can generate traffic to your site though, connect with other webmasters that own blogs in your niche, create a viral effect that will generate backlinks from bloggers following the social trends.

    If your bit.ly link is posted on several websites with dofollow relation, yes; it has something to pass on to landing URL. But if all of your bit.ly's backlinks came from pages with nofollow relation, there is nothing to pass to the landing URL.

    thnaks for your replies, its seems bit.ly links are now giving me a landing page oh proceed with caution..... and you have to click on a further link? will this effect much?

    Yes. Since bit.ly links are 301's juice is passed through the link.

    Using bit.ly links can be helpful in scenarios where success rates are dropping in terms of posting links. For example, if you're hitting the same list of Pligg sites each month and having trouble posting links using the same or similar URL structures, using a bit.ly link will get you out of that jam while still passing juice.
