Are Perry Marshall products good for PPC?

I am looking for some advice.
I want to start getting into PPC, but I am not sure really where to start. Who has a good guide for beginners?
I do know about Perry Marshall and heard he was pretty good. But if I choose him, what product would you recommend?
I know he has a physical book that I can buy from a book store called "The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords"
Or he has a product on his site called "The Definitive Guide to Google Adwords" but this is like double the price.
Or is there someone else you guys would recommend? What about any WSO's?
I have spent some time on here looking at different posts and understand a little bit about PPC, but I would like to know more.
