Google Targeting EMDs

It came to my attention that Google decided to penalize most of the EMDs in the top.

Some very popular authority aged sites who were in the top positions got hit in almost every niche.

What you guys think about this new update from Google?

I said yesterday that it would effect nearly every EMD in some manner and not just low quality EMD.

Perhaps we should change EMD to END (exact name Domain) and call it the End Patch.

Google makes the rules and every new rule and update makes them less popular.

Then why does their stock price keep going up?

The only people Google seems to have a popularity problem with are IM'rs - the rest of the world seems to think Google's doing a pretty good job.

Most of the popular sites does not contain exact match domain name. They have got some unusual domain name. They become authority sites with their user friendly contents.

Red Microwave Oven has been kicked off its throne. I guess it's the end of at least the 1-5 page xfactor sites.

It's so funny that all these Google updates like to nail things that are important to affiliate marketers. Hmmmm...wonder why that is.

I know nothing of your friends' 'authority sites', but many people seem to confuse a site with a large number of pages with an authority site. An EMD site with a couple of thousand scraped reviews and spun gibberish articles is not an authority site.

That said, if those sites really are authority sites, they should regain their rightful rankings when things settle down. Come to think of it, the garbage sites will likely find their rightful ranking, too. You just won't be able to find them...

But my $2 1000-word articles that I got from my VA were high quality. It's not fair that the evil Google ranked viagra.com ahead of me. Google just hates the little guy. What gives???

I've had a 4 page site and a 30 page site, both with an EMD, wiped off of the first page.

I'll see where we are at when the dust settles...

The 4 page site was one I purchased, and the previous owner had done some less-than-wholesome linkbuilding it seemed like, however the 30 page site was all au natural and dare I say that I wrote all the content myself and it was quite good .

Interesting to see where we're at once things settle!

My HubPages have been smashed - anyone else notice the same?

The problem though is that they had an outage on Friday, although yesterday my Hub traffic was down ~80% and there are little blue triangles everywhere.

Elsewhere most of my small niche sites are OK - funnily enough the worst hit is my real software business - so much for Google wanting legitimate sites (that sell stuff) in the top 10.
