Hi, I just joined the forum yesterday. Though Im not too much familiar with google panda but I guess I can give you an idea what SEO is. Everyone uses keywords to find for a certain topic, a link will never be on the list when you searched if it doesn't have the keyword on it. That's how SEO is. It drives traffic to your website if keywords are properly use.

Some good advice above. Google takes lots of things into consideration for example. Although not vital or taken into consideration your meta description is important for people doing searches, as they need to know in a nutshell what your website is and what its benefits are to them.

Keywords are important that links back to your businesses and those words must relate in some way to that business. So if you sell chocolate a key word might be "belgium chocolate". Keywords dont have to be single words they can also be 2 or 3 words but best to keep it short. Its also important to remember that some keywords that are popular can make it difficult for small businesses to be found in a crowded market, therefore some niche keywords linked to your business that are middle ground can work quite well as the example I used or something like "fluffy cuddly toys".

Build up backlinks that are do-follows and use social marketing as a tool to help you. Use forums and blogs to help build up backlinks. Word of mouth works very well though and sometimes better if they post backlinks for you but this can take time as you need a customer fanbase.

We have a fair idea of what works and what doesn't. But nobody knows the rules of algorithms. It's a heavily guarded secret. Even the employees don't know, they only work on bits of it at any one time!
