Can a multiple use site still rank in Google

I have a few blogs on different niches, that each have a squeeze page, my own product sales pages, product download pages, and aweber forms to switch buyers to different lists. They are all a year or two old.
I generally send paid traffic, or traffic I generate by other means, but I was thinking of starting to add content to these sites, and try and get them to rank in the search engines, for related keywords.
These sites are all on the Flexsqueeze template, which generally ranks well, but right now they are nowhere to be found in the search results.
Is this possible, or will Google punish them because of what is already on them. I also haven't added anything to them, since they were built, because I didn't need to, but I wonder if that will hurt them too, in the eyes of Google.
I am figuring that these extra pages could bring more visitors, where I could put a link to my squeeze page, and possibly some adsense, or a clickbank product.
Will I be wasting my time? Does Google frown on squeeze pages? I would appreciate any opinions.
