High page rank or high authority ?

Hi guyz, we all know that getting backlinks from most popular websites is very beneficial. but at this point i'm just confused.
For example i have two backlinks at two different websites.

1. The first backlink is from the website having high page rank and a do-follow backlink
2. second backlink is a no-follow backlink with no page rank but with high authority domain.

Now can you please tell me which of these backlinks is more important with reason ?

    I would suggest you that do not run before do follow links from PR pages.. just go for authority back links. back links from those domains which have good worth.

        Whenever you get back link from do-follow site and high PR always do your reputation on high because of reputation of these site are already high and it is a bottom line.

    I would take number one. PageRank is still very helpful for rankings and so is 'dofollow.'

    High page rank can pass PR on your site , homever higher ranking doesn't have to be related with PR. You can find pr2's outranking pr6's everywhere.

    Homever with this said if you have to choose one you can't relly only on those two factors. A high authority PR3 with a strong backlink profile can be 10 times stronger than a pr6. Also OBL's are extremely important , there's no point in buying a PR7 domain backlink when you have to share it with 100+ more sites.

    1st one is more important. Dofollow means it passes link juice to your page and hence your page get higher ranking in google compared to the 2nd link which give no link juice and have no effect on your ranking in google.

      YES ! You are right that the first one passes the pr juice but what do we do to get high domain/page authority ?? can we get high domain/page authority with just high page rank links ?

    It is the PR of the linking page that matters not the PR of the website (best represented by the HomePage PageRank).
    2. second backlink is a no-follow backlink with no page rank but with high authority domain.
    NoFollow means no link juice. No PR means less than 1. Google knows the digital places whereas we are shown only integers. it could be PR0 but to Google it is PR0.999

      You are right, but my question was something else.
      I asked that if a new page but high DA/PA is giving me a no-follow backlink! it is better then a do-follow and a high pr backlink or not ?

    I think getting backlink from an authority websites can give you more benefits rather than having backlinks from high PR website because in these days PR don't have that much importance then authority. SO you should go for the relevant but authority websites for backlinks.
