Hi guys

I had a site ranked 4th for 2 weeks in Google for one of my keywords.
It suddenly vanished 5 days ago, and i cant find it in any of the pages now.
Is this normal of Google to do this, and is my site expected to re-appear in the near future? I hear Google do this all the time, and my site will come back. But still cant find my site on the pages...
Any suggestions are appreciated

Cheers

    How old is the site?
Have you made any changes to the site?
Did you have an important link from somewhere?

Site is about 3 weeks old. Yea its still indexed. I just find it strange from 4th ranking to no ranking! Im still doing a quite a few backlinks on it per day, but its all on relevant sites etc forums and blogs. Should i keep doing that, or wait till re-appears?

    Hi Scott,

It's very likely that it's just caught up in the Google Dance. This happens a lot, especially with new sites (is it a new site?)

You can check if it's still in the google index by doing a search for site:yourwebaddress.com

That will let you know if the pages are still indexed or not.

While you are waiting for it to reappear, try and build some more backlinks to it so that it becomes more stable in goog's eyes.

Depending on what's happening backlinks could damage it.. I mean if he's already got a ton of backlinks really quickly Google might suspect something.

Updating it with on-topic content fairly often (but not too often if it's a new site) should prove it's not a spam site, keeping outgoing links on topic will help too.
