A trusted mentor told me that No Follow links are also useful in creating credibility for you. YOu might not benefit from a backlink, but no follow links gives google a sense that you are getting links manually and naturally and not paid, as is the case if all the links are do follow.

What are your thoughts?

    You need these too. They don't infer direct SEO benefit buy they balance out your backlink profile so it doesn't become too unnatural.

    They're perfectly fine and actually DO help influence your pagerank.

    Here's how:

    More links = more traffic. Period. It's the fundamental way to get traffic besides advertising.....

    And more traffic= more backlinks.

    The more eyes you have on your webpage, the greater chances of someone actually taking his/her time to make you that one dofollow backlink!

    You can get nofollow links everywhere (forums, blog comments etc). I would focus on dofollow links, they are harder to get.

    NO-Follow Links such as Facebook shares,Tweeter and all social sites are proven to build your reputation to Google but they give you Zero Back-link count. So, Yes it is important for you to get No-follow links from Authority Websites.
