How many sites are to many?
I have 6 sites and struggle at time to keep all of them running with building backlinks , updating etc (these are my sites ,not my customers) and was thinking of cutting down to 3.How do those with a large number of sites manage,is there a trick to it?

    There is no limit.
    I have a friend who is struggling to keep up with one site.

    Gets 10 times more traffic than all my sites together.

    Now a days it looks like Google is giving more consideration to big sites.
    So, his strategy is proven good.

    I run 2 sites and to be honest have no desire to run 3 at this point. I think it comes down to how smart you are and how you develop your content strategy.

    One website is stressful enough....depends how much you can handle as a person.
    I probably could run more than 1 or 2 but I would be very stressed, confused, all over the place and allot of grey hair

    I have over 30. No problems. I don't even manage them, I just hire a blog writer, and a backlink builder.

    Managing more than 4-5 sites or blogs was a lot easier couple of years back. But, nowadays Google changes its algo strategy so quickly, that you have to redesign your backlinking strategy quickly for each site. I would rather suggest you to restrict yourself to no more than 3 sites and keep growing traffic and make them big.

    I have been thinking of having 3 separate sites for each of our service we offer. I figure this way they will be even more optimized for that keyword throughout and help with ranking each one to the top. But a lot of work for sure.
