Is Micro Niche Dead? Should I try again?

I used to run a large number of micro niche sites, and made some decent money with them. However, at some point earlier this year google made some drastic changes which affected the way micro niche sites are ranked, and all my sites dropped off google and i completely gave up. However, i'm considering giving it another shot, so i have a few simple questions.

What's the deal now with the kinds of backlinks that work? I used to use article submission primarily, and as i said towards the end there it stopped having ANY affect on my rankings. So are article backlinks dead? What on earth can i do to rank micro niche sites these days? What's the new backlink method that actually WORKS?

Or are mico niche sites dead? Have all these google updates made it so difficult to rank sites that it is not even worth the time? Should i perhaps stick to things like hubpages? Thanks for any advice.

I feel Micro Niche Sites are deader than Michael Jackson. If you're expecting a Thriller from that business model, you will be disappointed.

As you already know, you have to build links to each of those dumpy lil' websites. It's almost impossible to do on a mass scale. Plus the rewards aren't high enough. Expenses are too high, reward too little. I'd pass and look for something more lucrative.

one bigger site that can have multiple Micro niches embedded may work not independent small sites.

I've had my hand in micro niche sites for about 2 years now and I'm moving away from them. The updates google has been doing the past year have made it really difficult. The only reason you should build them is if you can build them on interesting topics that will get traffic from other sources.

  • I wouldn't waste my time with micro niche sites. Google clearly doesn't like them. Just make a large website and build your brand.
